Best Motorcycle Chain Locks
Motorcycle anti-theft?
So my brand new bike that I had for all of 6 days got stolen. 2 days later (today), it was recovered by the police, wrecked/damaged of course.
My question is this; I don’t have access to a garage. It sits under a carport under a cover. I can’t really afford a storage unit for the time being (hoping to get one soon).
Our carport is supported by metal poles, and I am contemplating chaining it to the pole. I have a 2009 Ninja ZX-6R. Where would be the best place to run the chain(s) through the bike?? Or, does anyone have any other ideas… and please don’t be a wiseguy/girl and say get a storage unit or a garage. I am looking for a temp. fix until I can do either of the two. I have seen the wheel locks and what not, but those won’t keep someone from lifting it into the back of a truck, hence the chaining it to a pole.
Years ago I used concrete anchors to bolt a Ubolt to the patio to my house. I then bought a bicycle chain lock. The chain had a plastic sleeve, so it would not scratch. I then would lock rear tire to Ubolt.
The bike cant be picked up with out removing tire. The thing to remember is most thieves are lazy and don’t want attention to what they are doing. They have various products on the market as well. But i would look at a simple bike lock and the pole for your car port as being cheap and easy.
