Motorcycle Oil Change Pump
Where is my oil leak from 1999 Honda Shadow ACE 1100 cc motorcycle?
I bought this car new in 1999, but after running-in period, I have not managed to change the oil in due time, perhaps 4,000 miles behind in 8000 on the odometer. I rode the bike with my wife as a journey passenger Dayton, OH Memphis, TN and Dayton in Virginia Beach, VA primarily on Interstate 70 about 80 kilometers per hour. When I finally thought to change the oil, which came very dark. After changing oil and filter slowly began leaking. I changed the washer drain plug, oil drain and refill again, making sure that strainer gasket has an oil film on it before tightening, but there is a leak. Near as I know, may be an oil pump seal leakage. I rode around with four liters of oil substitution in the panniers, but now I do not know whether it would be ten miles to the dealer for repair. said manual removal of the sub-frame and plenty of other parts required for access to remove the oil from the pump. Any suggestions before doing so?
If there are no visible signs of oil leak that there is no field where it looks like this is used by a worn engine or because the rings are used pressure in the crankcase is forced to throw more fuel to fill hole
