1975 Yamaha DT400 motorcycle?
I have a 1975 Yamaha DT-400. I rebuilt the motor, and the large piston in the first place, new carburetor, new CDI. The bike can sit for a month and can be run once it starts. Idles perfectly, then when you go stumbles and stutters, I run up to 5000 rpm and that's how it works. I pressure test the housing, has good compression and new carburetor jet. I can set the time in any place the magneto crank and the bike. I run rich and have been running lean and not make any difference. I also took the muffler muffler with a new K & N filter air and a new ignition coil. My question is, why not take the motorcycle throttle and accelerate smoothly?
Guardrailjim good suggestion, but also check that the spark advance mechanism is working properly.
