I race bikes what are my chances? What should I prepare?

Ok, so I'm 5'9 170 pounds, 19 years I live in Florida in Miami. I'm getting enough time between work and school where you can have a hobby. Ive been waiting for a gsxr 600 or Streetbike really modern. I I have plans to go for or anything just maybe a little to form a racing school and running a few ccs amateur events for fans to win some trophies and really fun. I live close enough to the freeway were closed at Moroso and a lot of times to see drag races.Should gsxr go with a 06 + Or an older (5.4) everyone tells me to get a previous version so you can save some money in British Columbia is likely to fall since it is my first bike. What do you think? Is this a good bike 4.5 600 is sufficient for the race? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
